Macari is a small village in the territory of San Vito Lo Capo, the right place to understand and appreciate colours: the blue of the sky, the deep blue of the sea, the red of unsurpassable sunsets.
The little white houses are poised on a ridge facing the blue sea of the Baia di Santa Margherita and the beach of the Bue Marino, declared the best beach in Italy in 2015.
Macari is in an optimal position to reach three natural reserves: Zingaro, Monte Monaco and Monte Cofano.
Throughout the year Macari is the right place for those who wish to find lost pleasures:
a slow walk to the newsagent, nearby shopping at the small grocer, the tolling of bells in the little church, the scent of earth, the whisper of the olive trees in the wind.
In Macari time stops, and nature is welcoming and generous. The day is punctuated by relax, a dip in the sea, and an outdoor meal of fresh fish.
Stella del Sud is a comfortable holiday house in Macari, close to San Vito Lo Capo, the right place to relax and appreciate nature. It is located 500 metres from the sea, thus allowing access in a few minutes to the most beautiful beaches of the territory of San Vito Lo Capo.
The peaceful environment tells of timeless stories .
There are plenty amenities, among which restaurants and trattorie where it is possible to taste the traditional Sicilian cuisine and experience the warm welcome of the locals.
The Beach of Bue Marino in Macari has won the competition “La più bella sei tu”, and is recommended by Legambiente, the Italian environment agency. The beach was voted the Best Beach by visitors and environmental experts. One of the beach appeals is the mixture of brown rocks and blue sea.
The beach, a few minutes from Stella del Sud, can be reached only on foot, leaving the car in the dedicated parking place. No chaos, no noise, only the whisper of the wind and the lapping of the waves.

Macari is a small village, from which one can quickly drive to and explore Castelluzzo and San Vito Lo Capo.
Castelluzzo is a village with many amenities: post office, pharmacy, restaurants, bars, butcher, food shops.
San Vito Lo Capo is the heart of the region; it needs no introduction as its white beach is famous world-wide, there is an imposing church; the centre of town is the old fishing village.
San Vito Lo Capo offers water sports and boat excursions to the Zingaro reserve or the Egadi islands.
Every month offers events for adults and children: Cous Cous Fest is the most famous, followed by Festival Siciliambiente, Libri Autori e Bouganville, and musical, gastronomical and sport events.
The medieval mountain village of Erice is less than half an hour away by car. Erice is renowned for its almond cookies and its traditional ‘genovese’ cakes. Erice offers one of the most spectacular views in Italy.
On the other side of the mountain is Trapani, a town surrounded by sea in the westernmost point of Sicily. Its interesting historical centre has an abundance of churches, palaces and promenades by the sea.
From Trapani one can travel to Marsala, town of wine, along the ‘road of salt’ with the wind mills and the salt pans. It is possible to see flamingos!
Also not to be missed: Mazara del Vallo with the statue of the Satyr in the town museum, the island of Mozia with the Phoenician museum, the Temples of Segesta and Selinunte, and the Egadi islands: Favignana, Levanzo, Marettimo. Furthermore, Agrigento and its splendid Valle dei Templi, Palermo, the capital city of Sicily with its Arab, Bizantine and Norman monuments, and Monreale, with its fantastic Cathedral, are all within reach.
